A carbon filter has one job: to make grow room odour disappear without strangling your inline fan. The Pure Factory's PureFilter Ø150 does exactly that, thanks to virgin Australian RC 412 activated carbon and a genuinely low-restriction design.
The carbon is what makes the difference
It all comes down to the raw material. The PureFilter is packed with virgin Australian RC 412 carbon, a highly microporous grade whose vast adsorption surface traps the volatile compounds behind flowering odour. Virgin means never regenerated: every granule works at full capacity from the very first run, whereas recycled carbon saturates within weeks.
680 m³/h: the right sizing for a Ø150 setup
An undersized filter throttles your fan and lets odour escape. At 680 m³/h with a Ø150 mm collar, this model pairs with most 150 mm inline fans on the market — aim for a free-air rating that is close to or slightly above it. Which inline fan should I pair with this Ø150 filter?
Pick a Ø150 mm fan rated between 500 and 800 m³/h free air. A 760 m³/h unit such as the Prima Klima PK150-L is an ideal match: once the filter and ducting resistance is accounted for, real airflow lands close to the sweet spot.
How long does the filter last?
Expect 12 to 18 months of continuous use, or 2 to 3 full cycles, depending on humidity and pre-filter care. If odour starts getting through despite a clean pre-filter, the carbon is saturated and the filter needs replacing.
Can it be mounted horizontally?
Yes, and in a grow tent that is usually the easiest option. Spread the weight across two straps so the housing does not deform, and keep it away from the direct output of a humidifier — waterlogged carbon loses its adsorption power.
