Choosing and installing your DF16 extractor

The right airflow depends first on the volume of your grow space and the resistance of your carbon filter. The simple rule: your extractor should renew the tent's air at least once a minute. For an 80 × 80 cm tent, a setting around 150 to 250 m³/h is plenty; for a 100 × 100 cm format or a small room, make the most of the full 350 m³/h. The thermo controller then handles the fine tuning: it ramps up during the light phase, when heat from the lamps builds, and eases off at night to preserve humidity and keep noise down.

For installation, ideally place the extractor at the top of the tent to remove the hot air that naturally rises, with the carbon filter upstream to trap odours before the air is expelled. Position the remote thermal probe at canopy level, where temperature really matters for your plants. Thanks to the Ducting Flange mounting and the compact polyamide housing, the unit is quick to fit, inside or outside the tent depending on available space and how quiet you need it.

If you want it even quieter, pair the DF16 with acoustic ducting and mount it outside the tent: at low speed it becomes barely audible, which makes it well suited to a grow in a bedroom or office. Maintenance is minimal — check the ducting connections from time to time and keep the carbon filter fresh, because a saturated filter raises back-pressure and forces the fan to work harder than necessary. And if your setup grows, the same logic scales up: simply move to a larger DF16 filter to unlock the full 350 m³/h without changing your routine.
