Why humidity decides your yield

Plants breathe through their stomata. When the air gets too dry, vapour pressure deficit (VPD) rises, the stomata close to limit transpiration, and CO₂ uptake collapses. Photosynthesis slows down, growth stalls, and the light energy you pay for every month stops turning into biomass.

In practice you aim for 70-80 % relative humidity for cuttings and young plants, roughly 60-70 % through vegetative growth, then a gradual drop towards 40-50 % late in flowering to keep mould at bay. Every stage has its own target, and without a powerful humidifier those figures are impossible to hold in an LED-lit room running permanent extraction.

A 23-litre tank built for autonomy

Capacity is the first thing to look at in a horticultural humidifier. With 23 litres on board, the Advanced Star runs for days where a 4 to 5 litre household model needs refilling two or three times daily. That means peace of mind over weekends, during trips, and through the sensitive stages where humidity simply cannot drop.

Better still, the unit accepts manual or continuous filling. Plumbed into a water outlet or an RO unit, it tops itself up and becomes a permanent fixture. This is the setup we recommend as soon as your space exceeds 4 m² or the room runs all year round.

Even diffusion and instant start-up

The multi-directional nozzle points the mist exactly where it matters: at the propagation area, under the canopy, or in front of an oscillating fan for fast distribution through the whole volume. The output is adjustable, so you can fine-tune the flow to the growth stage and the size of the room.

Everything is plug & play: unbox, fill, plug into 220-240 V. No assembly, no complicated setup. Built-in castors and two side handles let you move the unit between tents effortlessly, even with water still in the tank.

BloomLED tip: use RO or distilled water. Hard water leaves mineral scale in the tank and on the transducer, cutting mist output and leaving a white film on leaves and reflectors. Rinsing the tank regularly extends the working life of the unit considerably.

Pairing it correctly in your grow room

A humidifier never works alone. Pair it with a humidistat or a climate controller so it switches on and off against a setpoint: that is the only way to get a stable humidity curve, without spikes or night-time condensation. Add an oscillating fan to break up pockets of damp air and stop mist settling on the floor.
