Dry air stalls growth, closes the stomata and destroys fresh cuttings. The Advanced Star 23L Air Humidifier is built for serious volumes: a 23-litre tank, a continuous water feed compatible with an RO unit, and a multi-directional nozzle that spreads a fine, even mist. Hand-picked by BloomLED, indoor growing specialists for over 10 years, it is made for growers who refuse to refill a tank three times a day.
Plants breathe through their stomata. When the air gets too dry, vapour pressure deficit (VPD) rises, the stomata close to limit transpiration, and CO₂ uptake collapses. Photosynthesis slows down, growth stalls, and the light energy you pay for every month stops turning into biomass.
In practice you aim for 70-80 % relative humidity for cuttings and young plants, roughly 60-70 % through vegetative growth, then a gradual drop towards 40-50 % late in flowering to keep mould at bay. Every stage has its own target, and without a powerful humidifier those figures are impossible to hold in an LED-lit room running permanent extraction.
That is precisely what the Advanced Star 23L is for: producing enough mist to continuously offset the dry air pulled in from outside, even across several square metres or a bank of grow tents.
Capacity is the first thing to look at in a horticultural humidifier. With 23 litres on board, the Advanced Star runs for days where a 4 to 5 litre household model needs refilling two or three times daily. That means peace of mind over weekends, during trips, and through the sensitive stages where humidity simply cannot drop.
Better still, the unit accepts manual or continuous filling. Plumbed into a water outlet or an RO unit, it tops itself up and becomes a permanent fixture. This is the setup we recommend as soon as your space exceeds 4 m² or the room runs all year round.
The multi-directional nozzle points the mist exactly where it matters: at the propagation area, under the canopy, or in front of an oscillating fan for fast distribution through the whole volume. The output is adjustable, so you can fine-tune the flow to the growth stage and the size of the room.
Everything is plug & play: unbox, fill, plug into 220-240 V. No assembly, no complicated setup. Built-in castors and two side handles let you move the unit between tents effortlessly, even with water still in the tank.
BloomLED tip: use RO or distilled water. Hard water leaves mineral scale in the tank and on the transducer, cutting mist output and leaving a white film on leaves and reflectors. Rinsing the tank regularly extends the working life of the unit considerably.
A humidifier never works alone. Pair it with a humidistat or a climate controller so it switches on and off against a setpoint: that is the only way to get a stable humidity curve, without spikes or night-time condensation. Add an oscillating fan to break up pockets of damp air and stop mist settling on the floor.
Finally, balance it against your extraction. An oversized extractor fan pulls the mist out as fast as it is produced, so fan speed control and humidifier output need to be dialled in together. Our BloomLED advisors are happy to help you size the whole setup around your floor area and LED lighting.

Days of autonomy without touching it, versus a few hours on a standard household humidifier. Ideal for large spaces and extended absences.
Connect it straight to a water line or RO unit: the humidifier refills itself and becomes a permanent installation in your grow room.
Aim the mist where it is needed. The adjustable output lets you match the flow to the stage: propagation, vegetative growth or flowering.
No assembly, no configuration. Plug into 220-240 V and the humidifier produces mist from the first minute.
Built-in castors and two side handles: shift it between tents or take it out for cleaning without straining.
Accessible tank and easy-to-rinse transducer. With RO water and regular cleaning, the unit holds its mist output over time.
With a 23-litre tank and 110 W of power, it is sized for spaces of several square metres: large tents, banks of tents or dedicated rooms. In a small 60 x 60 cm tent it would be heavily oversized, so a compact 4 to 9 litre model would suit you better. If you are unsure about your setup, the BloomLED team can advise based on your floor area, lighting and extraction rate.
It is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended. Hard tap water deposits minerals on the transducer, which cuts mist output over the weeks, and leaves a white residue on leaves, reflectors and tent walls. RO or distilled water removes that problem and noticeably extends the life of the unit.
Yes, and that is exactly the setup we recommend. Driven by a humidistat, the humidifier only runs when humidity falls below your setpoint, which avoids over-humidification, night-time condensation and mould risk late in flowering. You get a stable curve instead of a saw-tooth pattern.
The unit accepts a direct feed from a water outlet or an RO system. Once connected, it maintains its own level: no more carrying jerrycans or checking the tank. It is the most reliable solution for a room running continuously or for a space that is awkward to reach.
Empty and rinse the tank regularly, especially if you are not using RO water, and wipe the transducer to remove any mineral film. A weekly visual check is enough in most cases. A clean unit keeps its rated output and avoids blowing mineral deposits into the grow room air.
23 litres of autonomy, RO-compatible continuous filling and directional mist: the Advanced Star 23L is the humidifier for growers managing large volumes who will not tolerate humidity swings.
