Setup and recommended settings

The M650 ships as a ready-to-use kit: hang the four bars on the supplied hangers, plug in the link cables, connect the driver to mains. Budget around twenty minutes in a standard 120x120 tent.

Hang the bars 30 to 50 cm above the canopy. During early veg stay high and dim to 50-60 %: young plants do not need maximum PPFD and you will avoid bleaching the tops. In bloom, drop to 30-40 cm and work up to full power.

Properly sized extraction is still essential. The M650 does not radiate heat the way an HPS does, but 650 W dissipated in a sealed space will raise the temperature — aim for 24-26 °C at canopy level.

Plan on 120 x 120 cm for full-potential flowering, where PPFD stays high all the way to the edges. The M650 will light up to 150 x 150 cm, but photon density at the perimeter drops: that is a very good compromise for veg, less so if you are chasing maximum bloom yield.

How high should I hang the bars?

Between 30 and 50 cm above the canopy. Stay nearer 50 cm with the dimmer turned down for the first weeks, then move to 30-40 cm at full power in bloom. If you see bleaching or leaves tacoing upward, raise by 10 cm or reduce intensity.

Do I need the SmartWILD console?

No. The dimmer is built into the fixture, so you can set intensity without any accessory. The SmartWILD console, sold separately, adds WiFi control, gradual sunrise and sunset ramps and time scheduling. It is a convenience and automation upgrade, not a requirement.

Does the M650 run hot, and is it noisy?
