A seedling that shoots up thin and pale, a cutting leaning hard towards the window, a young plant that is all stem and no leaf: nine times out of ten the seed is not the problem, the light is. The SpectraLINE V2 90 cm puts 24 W of full spectrum a few centimetres above your trays and turns fragile seedlings into compact, well-branched plants that are genuinely ready to pot on. It is the propagation bar BloomLED has been recommending to home growers and professional nurseries for more than 10 years, and the 90 cm format is the sweet spot for a standard shelf or a two-tray propagation station.

The SpectraLINE full spectrum covers the wavelengths photosynthesis actually uses at the seedling stage, with enough blue in the mix to keep etiolation under control. In practice that means short internodes, thick stems, dark green cotyledons and a root system that gets moving quickly. Unlike a generic white LED strip, the PAR output here is aimed at vegetative growth rather than at making a room look bright.
Misting, closed humidity domes, a damp cellar in February, an unheated garage: the IP65 rating lets you mount the bar just a few centimetres above your trays without worrying about splashes or condensation. That is exactly what separates the V2 from ordinary indoor LED battens, which are not rated for the humidity levels a propagation area runs at.
One 90 cm bar covers roughly 90 x 40 cm intensively, which is two standard seed trays side by side. To light a full shelving unit, simply link several SpectraLINE bars end to end with the optional 40 or 100 cm link cables: one wall socket, no external ballast, no complicated wiring and no daisy chain of extension leads behind the rack.
The bar ships with its shelf mounting kit and an integrated EU mains cable. There is no separate driver to find a home for and nothing to assemble: fix the bar, plug it in, add a timer for the day/night cycle and you are growing. A hanging kit is available separately if you would rather suspend the bar over a bench or inside a grow tent.
Twenty-four watts of real draw is roughly the running cost of a bedside lamp, and the premium aluminium chassis dissipates heat passively so the diodes hold their output over the full 50 000 hour rating. No fan means no noise and nothing to clog with substrate dust. Over seven years at 18 hours a day, that is a grow light you fit once and then forget about.
Between 15 and 25 cm above the surface of the compost for seedlings and cuttings. If your seedlings still stretch, drop the bar a few centimetres closer; if the leaves pale, curl or look bleached, raise it slightly. The SpectraLINE runs very cool, so you can bring it close to the canopy without any risk of scorching tender growth.
16 to 18 hours a day gives the best results for seedlings and young plants. Plants need a genuine dark period to metabolise properly, so avoid running the light 24/7 even though it is tempting. A simple mechanical or digital timer automates the cycle, keeps the photoperiod consistent and means you never have to think about it again.
A single SpectraLINE 90 cm comfortably covers two standard seed trays, around 90 x 40 cm. For a wider bench or a multi-tier propagation shelf, plan on one bar per level and connect them with a link cable. If your shelf is deeper than about 45 cm, running two bars in parallel gives far more even coverage than pushing one bar higher.
Yes. The full spectrum works well for supplementary lighting on herbs, salad leaves, microgreens and houseplants through the winter, and as a top-up light in a vegetative area. It is deliberately sized for propagation and early growth rather than for flowering, though, so for a full flowering cycle you will want a dedicated high-PPFD horticultural fixture instead.
The SpectraLINE has been the BloomLED reference for young plants since 2014. If your bar fails or fades within three years, we replace it with a new one, no argument. Our technical team grows indoors too and is on the phone if you need help sizing your setup.
