Which extractor fan should I pair with this Ø150mm carbon filter?

Choose a Ø150 extractor fan with airflow equal to or slightly above 690 m³/h. The filter must always be able to absorb the air being drawn through it: an overpowered fan would shorten the air's contact time with the carbon and reduce odour-control efficiency. A model around 600 to 800 m³/h is the ideal match.

How long does the activated carbon last?

Under normal indoor-growing conditions, coconut activated carbon retains its efficiency for 18 to 24 months. Actual lifespan depends on humidity (very humid air saturates the carbon faster) and odour intensity. Maintaining the pre-filter regularly and controlling humidity will noticeably extend its life.

Does the filter work in air-recirculation mode?

Yes. The ProActiv Ø150mm can be installed in extraction mode (filtered air is expelled outside) or in recirculation mode inside the tent, with the fan simply moving air through the carbon. Recirculation is useful when venting to the outside isn't possible.

Should it run continuously?
