Yes, rinsing with clean water before first use is strongly recommended. It removes residual clay dust that could clog a hydroponic system or cloud your nutrient solution. For NFT or DWC hydro, rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.

How many 10L bags do I need for a pot or hydro setup?

For drainage at the bottom of 11-25 L pots: 1 bag covers 2 to 3 pots. For full hydro in Air-Pots or net cups, plan around 1 bag per 10 L pot. In NFT/DWC, size by basket volume (typically 0.5 to 1 L of pebbles per plant).
