Installation and getting started
- Unroll the HomeLAB 40 tent on a flat surface, assemble the metal frame and position the waterproof tray at the bottom.
- Hang the SpectraBUD X60 BL at the top of the tent with the supplied ratchet hangers, centred above the canopy.
- Plug the LED into the mechanical timer and set 18/6 for veg or 12/12 for bloom depending on your stage.
- Place the thermo-hygrometer probe at canopy height for an accurate microclimate reading.
- Add your ventilation (extractor + carbon filter, not included) as needed and start your grow.
Frequently asked questions
How many plants can I grow in this HomeLAB 40 pack?
The 40×40 cm footprint is perfect for 1 plant in a large pot (15-25 L) or 2 plants in mid-size pots (7-11 L). With the SpectraBUD X60 BL centred 25-35 cm above the canopy, you get uniform PPFD across the whole area, ideal for scrog or SOG cultivation.
How far should I keep the LED from my plants?During veg, keep 35-45 cm between the SpectraBUD X60 BL and the canopy. During bloom, bring it down to 25-35 cm to maximise PPFD. The LED stays only lukewarm to the touch and will not scorch leaves, even at short distance, unlike traditional HPS fixtures.
Do I need additional ventilation?The HomeLAB 40 tent offers dedicated ducting ports for an extractor and a carbon filter. For a 40×40 cm space, a 100 mm RAM-style extractor is enough. BloomLED offers matching ventilation bundles and a carbon filter sized for this footprint.
Is the timer rated for the LED power draw?Yes: the mechanical timer handles up to 16 A / 3500 W, well above the 60 W drawn by the SpectraBUD X60 BL. You can even daisy-chain accessories (extractor, heater, pump) on the same outlet while staying under the total limit.
