To make the most of the 1.44 m² inside the HomeBox Ambient Q120, pair it with a 300–480 W (real wattage) full-spectrum LED with even diffusion. For ventilation, plan a Ø150 mm extraction kit with carbon filter to manage heat and neutralise odours through bloom. Add a thermo-hygrometer, a clip-on circulation fan and a mechanical timer — the three accessories that keep VPD between 0.8 and 1.4 kPa across veg and flower.
How many plants fit inside the HomeBox Ambient Q120?
With 1.44 m² of floor area, the Q120 comfortably hosts 4 to 9 mature plants in 11–25 L pots (depending on whether you run SOG or ScrOG), or up to 36 cuttings and seedlings in veg. For dense Sea-of-Green setups, 9 to 12 plants in 6 L square pots is a sweet spot.
What LED wattage suits the Q120?For veg, a 200–250 W (real draw) full-spectrum LED is enough. For productive flowering over 1.44 m², target 350 to 480 W actual draw (the classic 250–350 W/m² ratio). A panel such as the SpectraPANEL X640 is sized for this footprint.
Is PAR+ really better than standard mylar?Yes. Thin mylar wrinkles, tears and creates hot-spots. The PAR+ silver lining on the Ambient series is engineered specifically to reflect the wavelengths used in photosynthesis with a more even spread and longer service life. In practice you gain PPFD uniformity without doubling lamp power.
How much usable height is left after the lamp and ducting are installed?Out of 200 cm outer height, expect roughly 165–175 cm of usable space once a slim LED, a circulation fan, an inline extractor and a carbon filter are fitted. That covers most indoor genetics, especially with a bit of SCROG or LST training on vigorous strains.
