Going away for the weekend or on vacation without your plants suffering thirst — that's exactly what the Blumat 12-plant kit solves. Built on the natural principle of capillarity, these 12 porous ceramic carrots release water only when the substrate dries out. No electricity, no timer, no pump: the plant regulates its own intake. Curated by BloomLED for its rugged track record across more than 30 years, this Austrian system has become the benchmark among serious indoor growers.
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Plants watered | 12 plants (or 6 large plants by doubling carrots) |
| Power source | None — natural capillarity |
| Autonomy | Up to 14 days depending on tank volume |
| Adjustment | Micrometric screw on each carrot |
| Tank requirement | Positioned above pot level (gravity) |
| Installation | Tool-free — Plug & Grow |
Each ceramic carrot releases water only when the substrate is dry. No risk of overwatering, no timer failure, no tubing burst at 3 a.m.
With a 30 to 50 litre tank mounted above pot level, the kit delivers up to two weeks of continuous watering. Holidays, business trips, long weekends: your plants stay hydrated with precision.
The micrometric screw on each carrot lets you tailor flow to each variety: thirsty tomatoes, moderate basil, near-dry succulents. A level of finesse no fixed dripper can match.
The complete kit ships with tubing, fittings and the 12 carrots. No specialised tools, no electrical work: insert the carrot into the pot, connect the tube to the tank, open the valve. Done.
The system runs entirely on gravity and capillarity. No pump, no timer, no mains connection. That's precisely what makes it so reliable: zero possible electronic failure.
How high should the tank sit?The tank must sit at least 30 to 50 cm above pot level to ensure adequate pressure. The higher it is, the higher the potential flow rate. Stay below 1.5 m to avoid excessive pressure.
Does the kit work on coco or hydroponics? It is optimised for soil and potting mix. On pure coco the regulation remains correct but needs finer initial tuning. For passive hydroponics, prefer a dedicated pressurised dripper system from our complementary range.
Designed in France and curated by BloomLED, recognised expert in horticultural lighting and grow automation for over 10 years: the Blumat 12-plant kit is the quiet standard among growers who never want to worry about watering again.
